古晋博爱协会为筹募安宁疗养院之建设经费，特于9月28日（星期日）早上8时至11时在古晋浮罗岸民众会堂举办义卖会，欢迎踊跃前往购买，并携带环保袋。

该会希望透过此项义卖能筹获马币20万，毕竟安宁疗养院的建设经费须耗资马币600万，希望大家伸出援手，让安宁疗养院尽早落实。

义卖会共有多个摊位，其有用品、花草及食品如炸鸡、糕点、面类、面包等琳琅满目的美食让大家购买。

安宁疗护（Hospice Care）提供末期病患及家属医疗上与其他方面种种的照顾。由专业医疗团队引领对于患者各种不舒症状进行「缓和医疗」（Palliative Medicine），解除的痛苦与不舒，并给予病患与家属生活上的协助和心灵上的慰藉。

古晋博爱协会所设立的安宁疗养院除了照顾成年人外，也将设立儿童病房。

所谓「缓和医疗」国内称为「安宁疗护」，根据世界卫生组织（WHO-1990）的定义为：「当疾病已无法治愈时，对病人作积极完整的照顾；疼痛与其他症状的控制，以及协助精神、社会和灵性上的问题。安宁疗护的目标是协助病人与家属达到最佳的生活品质」。

安宁疗护的目的为辅导疾病末期病患与家属接受临终事实；达成身、心、灵完整的关怀照顾；减轻或消除癌末病患身体疼痛、不舒症状或心理压力等问题；消除病患与家属之怨怼，享受人生最后亲情。

安宁疗护人员最终极的目标，是能让病人安详走完人生路，使家属敢于面对病患死亡，使生死两相安。

16 Feb 14. 古晋博爱举办了新春联欢跟恩晚宴，要感恩多年来一路支持古晋博爱的朋友及家人们。对于大家有钱出钱，有力出力的精神，古晋博爱万分感激。并且会继续的努力，早日把建立博爱安宁中心的梦想早日实现，来帮助大众。 Kuching Life Care Society had organise a Chinese New Year gratitude dinner, the reason is to thanks all the friends and family who had help Kuching Life Care Society and supported financially, physically, and mentally. The team will continue to work hard to achieve the dream on building Sarawak first palliative centre, to help the unfortunate people.

09 Feb 14. Kuching Life Care team join the Kuching Hash Group on a yearly event, during Chinese New Year the team will visit the old folks home, and give them food, present, red package, and performance.

That afternoon, the show starts with lion dance to cheer up the atmosphere, after we invited a few people to go to the stage to sing the Chinese New Year song, and the old folks there also join us with the singing too.

We all had a great time there, and will come back here again to visit the old folks when we have time.

09 Feb 14. The Kuching Life Care Society had join together with the Chicada Group from the Buddhist Society to run an activity on the Sarawak General Hospital with the cancer patients. This is a whole year event, as the KLCS will always runs activities like this during the festive occasion. Do follow us closely on our facebook, we you can also join us next time when we organise such event. Thank you.

10 Jan 14. The Kuching Hai Nan Association had made a donation to Kuching Life Care Society, with the fund that they donated, it will enable the society to continue to run and operate. And benefit the cancer patients who needed our help.

01 Dec 13. Tadang is a old lady in her 70s which live with her only son. The son has some mental problem, and most of the time they just stay at home. She only depends on the assistant from the Sarawak welfare department on giving her RM150 each month. Kuching Life Care Society visited the place together with the Tzu Yun Buddhist Society, and the Buddhist society will study her case, and if possible they will send daily usage and food to her in the future on a monthly basis.

7 Nov 13. The team from Kuching Life Care Society had organise a trip for the Sarawak General Hospital patients to visit the Sarawak Cultural Village.

Despite the raining season, we are very lucky the weather that day are fine. Cloudy, but not rain, and not hot too. So the patients are all very happy to be able to visit all the houses for different ethnic group with a fine weather.

Mr Vinod Chin’s who is the Kuching Life Care Society ambulance driver also donated a total of 40 packs of nasik lemak for the patients and volunteer workers to enjoy. Big thanks for Mr Chin.
